Evansdale Drive Bus Service to be Eliminated
Morgantown, WV-
Mountain Line will hold two public hearings regarding service elimination on Evansdale Drive. Bus service affected by these changes will include service elimination on the Blue & Gold bus route the Beechurst Express bus route as well as the Purple Line bus route.
Evansdale Drive is owned and controlled by West Virginia University and University Administration has requested this service elimination, effective January 9, 2017. After this service elimination, Mountain Line will provide service to the Evansdale Campus from Towers to the Evansdale Crossing by way of Patteson Drive. Bus service will no longer be available to areas along Evansdale Drive including the Ag Sciences building, Evansdale Library, or any of the Engineering Sciences buildings. The Authority estimates this service reduction will impact tens of thousands of rides annually, necessitating this public participation process.
The first Public Hearing will take place on Tuesday, November 8 at 1:30 pm at the Westover Administrative Offices, 420 DuPont Road. The Second Public Hearing will take place on November 9 during the Authority’s November Board Meeting, 6:00 pm at the same Westover facility. The Authority Board is scheduled to vote on this proposed change at that same November 9 meeting.
