SHORT TO MEDIUM RANGE TRANSPORTATION PLAN
The Morgantown Monongalia Metropolitan Planning Organization is assisting the Mountain Line Transit Authority in developing a short to medium term strategic plan for the bus system. In collaboration with the community and stakeholders, the plan will guide Mountain Line investments to the year 2025.
Mountain Line has been strategically expanding service and working with area partners to connect the region more efficiently and effectively, to create greater mobility in the region. As part of these strategic efforts, Mountain Line is working on this transit plan to identify necessary changes, enhancements or expansion to continue quality service for current riders while attracting more riders to the system. The plan will look to effectively orient the agency and its transit service for the future.
The planning study engaged the community through multiple meetings, in-person events, and online activities in spring 2019. Through the support of comments from hundreds of people, the study team has created a framework of draft recommendations. The study team has taken into consideration recent events including the disruption from COVID-19 and what it means for the future of transportation.
Additional community input will help guide the planning process. Engagement will be digital through online tools.
