Mountain Line Employee Paul Burns Retires After 25 Years of Service
Morgantown, WV- Paul Burns will retire from Mountain Line Transit Authority on Friday, July 18, 2025, after 25 years of dedicated service.
Paul began his journey with Mountain Line in February 2000 as a part-time van driver. Through his hard work, dedication, and commitment, he steadily advanced to become our Assistant Manager of Operations. Over the years, Paul has been a steadfast presence, contributing significantly to our growth and success.
In 2009, Paul played a pivotal role in increasing our workforce by 11%, overseeing the training and development of 20 new hires. That same year marked the arrival of our first Gillig buses, and Paul took charge of supervising driver training on the new equipment. His deep knowledge of our route generators, fleet status, and bus conditions has been invaluable. Paul also maintained excellent working relationships with various departments throughout our community, ensuring smooth coordination of logistics.
In 2023, as Mountain Line continued to evolve and grow, Paul once again stepped up—offering guidance, support, and leadership wherever it was needed most. His decision to remain with us beyond his original retirement plan has helped ensure a smooth transition and reflects his deep commitment to Mountain Line’s mission and long-term success.
On behalf of the entire Mountain Line team, we extend our heartfelt thanks to Paul. It has been an honor to work alongside him through challenges, milestones, and meaningful moments. He has been a vital member of the management team and helped shape the foundation for our future.
We invite all who have worked with Paul to join us in celebrating his retirement on Thursday, July 17th, from noon to 1:00 PM at the Mountain Line Administrative Office, 420 DuPont Road.
## End Release. Thank you.
