Mountain Line Mobile Fare Launches on Token Transit App
Morgantown, WV- Beginning Monday March 11, 2019 Mountain Line Transit passengers will be able to use the Token Transit app to buy and use bus passes on their smartphones or other mobile devices. Partnering with Token Transit, Mountain Line will provide electronic bus passes for their riders that are easy to purchase and use. Riders may do the following:
  • Purchase transit passes using the app on their smartphones.
  • Activate the pass on the app.
  • Use the pass by showing the app on their phone to the Bus Operator upon boarding.
Customers may also choose to purchase online (https://tokentransit.com/send) and send tickets to someone else. Even if ticket recipients do not have an account set up on their device, they may use the mobile ticket. For example, parents may choose to send a monthly pass to their child using this option so the child would not need access to payment information.

“We are implementing mobile ticketing with Token Transit to give riders in Morgantown and Monongalia County areas an easy and convenient way to buy bus passes. Our hope is to make public transit easier to use so that more people can get from point A to point B in a more environmentally-friendly way” stated David Bruffy, CEO.

The Token Transit app is available on both the App Store for iPhone users and the Google Play Store for Android users. A credit or debit card is required to purchase passes. Fares on the Mobile App include a convenience fee to cover the costs related to the use of the app.

Mountain Line Transit is the transit provider for Morgantown and Monongalia County. Mountain Line’s mission is to provide a safe, reliable, and efficient transportation system for the region.
