Bruffy Announces Mountain Line Resignation

Morgantown, WV- David Bruffy has announced his resignation as Chief Executive Officer of the Mountain Line Transit Authority, effective July 6, 2023.

Bruffy served as the administrative leader of the Authority since October 1997. Under his leadership the Authority grew from a 12 vehicle service to a 43 vehicle service that now employs 80 people and provides more than 80,000 hours of bus service a year.

Mr. Bruffy shared a few thoughts as he reflects on the past quarter century of service, “It has been my privilege and honor to work with all the men and women who served our community and helped build Mountain Line services and I will forever be appreciative of the community support we received over the years”. The Authority has provided more than 18 million trips in that time and is in the best financial condition ever with a modern bus fleet and stable workforce that promises service stability for many years to come.

Assistant Manager Maria Smith will take over Bruffy’s duties serving as Acting General Manager until such time as the Authority Board makes a permanent appointment decision. Bruffy has offered to serve as a Senior Advisor for a 6-12 month transition period at the discretion of the Board of Directors.

## End Release. Thank you.
