Grey Line

Mountain Line launched the Grey Line in 2005 as an interstate route traveling north and south between Clarksburg West Virginia to Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. It travels twice a day every day three hundred sixty five days a year.

The Grey Line departs Morgantown at about 6:00 AM and heads southbound on I79. Always check the current schedule for exact times. The first stop is exit 136 Downtown Fairmont at the second bus shelter along the Fairmont Gateway, the bus will then return to I79 and continue south to the United Hospital in Clarksburgh exit 124 Rt 50 to the bus shelter by the front entrance of United Hospital. The bus will now return north toI79 and exit 125 Saltwell, the park and ride lot. This is a great place to meet up with other commuters. The bus will then return to Fairmont and then back to Morgantown. There the bus will service the Westover Terminal and Mountaineer Station. Now for the northbound section. The bus will travel to exit 14 Waynesburg and will service the Greene County Airport there is a 5 minute break at the Bridgeville rest stop along the way.

The bus will arrive at the Pittsburgh Airport then the Pittsburgh Greyhound station in downtown Pittsburgh, this station is within walking distance to the Pittsburgh Cultural District and the Strip District for some shopping. The Pittsburgh PAT Transit system also has connections here. A short ride will get you to PNC Park or Heinz Field. The Pittsburgh PAT system is also on Google Transit, so you could use it as your trip planner from Morgantown to Heinz Field and it will let you know how to transfer onto the PAT system.

The Grey Line will then travel south stopping at Waynesburg, the West Virginia Welcome Center, and the Westover Terminal. At this point you can stay on board and travel to Mountaineer Station or you can transfer to a second Grey Line bus and continue south to Fairmont, Clarksburg, Saltwell, Fairmont, Mylan Pharmaceuticals and Mountaineer Station.

The second Grey Line bus departs around 5:00 PM from Morgantown, always check the current schedule for exact times. This time the bus will travel northbound to Waynesburg, Pittsburgh Airport and Greyhound Station then southbound through Morgantown and on to Fairmont, Saltwell, Clarksburg and then northbound to Fairmont and terminating at Westover Terminal in Morgantown.

A ticket from Clarksburg to Pittsburgh is thirty dollars, and from Morgantown to Pittsburgh is twenty five dollars. You can find all of the rates for each leg of the route on the Grey Line website at ride grey line dot org. Be sure to check out our family rates also.

Reserving a seat with Grey Line is easy, you can purchase your ticket online or contact our Grey Line office at 304-296-3869. An upgrade to business class including electric outlets and larger seats can be purchased for $5.00. We can also have lunch ready for you on board, or the morning paper. All of our Grey Line buses are equipped with wireless internet. 

For Mylan Pharmaceutical employees working the second shift, the Grey Line is a great option. The Grey Line services Saltwell at 2:45 and will get commuters to work in time for the second shift, after the shift is over Grey Line will pick up at Mylan at 11:15 PM and will arrive back in Saltwell at about midnight. Commuters may want to research our Mountain Line Monthly Monster Pass that allows riders to ride unlimited on all local routes and the Grey Line for an entire month.
