MOUNTAIN LINE TRANSIT RECORDS MORE RIDERS THIS YEAR THEN EVER BEFORE.
Morgantown, WV- We hear news everyday of the ever-growing need for us to pay attention to our environment, but what are we actually doing? When does it hit home that our everyday decisions are what will make a change?
Mountain Line Transit Authority has reason to believe that people are waking up and making changes. They have experienced a steady increase in ridership over the years, but this year they’re seeing record high numbers. There were a total of 608,000 passenger trips on Mountain Line buses last year and based on ridership through September of this year, it’s expected to eclipse the 800,000 passenger trip mark for 2007. In September alone there were 95,776 bus rides. That’s 32,599 more than September of last year. Mountain Line says they look forward to working with community leaders and WVU to expand and accommodate even more ridership growth for those new riders deciding to put down the car keys and pick up the bus pass. Would you like to be part of the change? Check out bus service in your area at www.busride.org.
