Where’s My Bus?
Morgantown, WV- Mountain Line Transit Authority is pleased to announce that its patrons now have a new way to track their bus in real-time! Mountain Line has launched a new web page (www.busride.org/MyBus/BusFrame.html) that offers a combined area map and On-Time status table for all buses. Using Mountain Line’s GPS tracking system, passengers can now see where there bus is on a map of the Morgantown area that is updated every two minutes with live-time data. This system is the first of its kind in use by a public transit agency in West Virginia.
In addition to offering computer users and owners this “living room update”, Mountain Line has set up its first Kiosk (in a planned series) in its main passenger terminal at the Garrett Street Depot. The Depot Kiosk also offers live-time tracking and updates to let passengers know if their bus is on-time or delayed by traffic, accidents, or other unpredicted impediments to the normal bus schedule. And, not to leave the “mobile” passenger behind, Mountain Line has a time-tracking page (www.busride.org/MyBus/MyBus.htm) that will display on most mobile phones, PDA’s and handheld devices allowing passengers along the route to update the timeliness of their bus as they wait at their bus stop.
For information on all Mountain Line bus routes and schedules, riders can call 291-RIDE (291-7433) during normal hours of operation or visit WWW.BUSRIDE.ORG.
