Line Names John Hemerick as 2003 Driver of the Year
The Mountain Line
Transit Authority is extremely pleased to announce its 2003 Driver of the Year,
Mr. John Roger Hemerick. The Authority
selected Mr. Hemerick for this honor based on his monthly performance
evaluations in 2003. Mr. Hemerick’s average
monthly performance evaluations were the highest among all of the Authority’s
Drivers in calendar year 2003. Performance
evaluations consider monthly performance in areas including demonstrated
driving skills, safety, public relations, assistance to fellow drivers, and
maintaining route schedules. Altogether,
drivers are evaluated in eight major categories that
include more than twenty specific service related areas.
Mr. Hemerick has
worked for the Authority since May of 2000.
As the Authority’s 2003 Driver of the Year, Mr. Hemerick will be nominated for the WV Division of Public Transit’s
statewide, Driver of the Year to be presented at the annual West Virginia
Public Transit Association’s Recognition Banquet. Mr. Hemerick was recognized
as the Authority’s top performer on five separate occasions in 2003.
The Authority
established its Monthly Driver Evaluation System in September of 2000 to
improve overall service and performance and to recognize it employees for their
outstanding service to the residents and visitors of
