Position Descriptions

  1. Bus Driver

     

    Bus Driver - Full Time and Part Time
     

    Mountain Line Transit Authority has several openings for full and part time “customer oriented” Bus Drivers.  

    Available work schedules range from 10 to 40 hours per week, Sunday through Saturday, including nights. Starting rate of pay is $18.89 per hour beginning July 1, 2018. there is a six-month probation training period. 

    Full time benefits include:

    - Family health, dental and vision insurance

    - Company match retirement plan

    - Two weeks vacation, 8 paid holidays, 12 days of sick leave

    - Longevity pay, long term disability insurance and uniforms 

    Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent. A CDL is not required to apply, but applicant must possess the ability to obtain a valid CDL Class B License with a passenger endorsement with Mountain Line’s assistance after acceptance of position.

  2. Mechanic - Full Time


    Mechanic - Full Time

    The Mountain Line Transit Authority is looking for an energetic, self-motivated individual to fill essential organizational role. The Authority is seeking qualified candidates for the position of full-time Mechanic. Starting rate of pay is $19.26 per hour.

    Benefits includes a family health, dental and vision insurance package, an 11.30% retirement plan, two weeks vacation per year, 8 paid holidays per year, 12 days of paid sick leave per year, longevity pay, long term disability insurance and uniforms.

    Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, training or experience providing ability to perform maintenance duties related to both diesel and gas engines, drive-lines, transfers, brakes, AC and electrical system repair and maintenance, with at least 2 years of mechanical experience working on cars, trucks, and heavy equipment.  Additionally, the position would require the attainment of a CDL Class B License with a Passenger endorsement within 6 months of hire date.

    Preferred qualifications include ASE certification and a CDL License with Passenger endorsement and experience with air brakes.

  3. Receptionist - Full Time


    Receptionist – Full Time
     

    Mountain Line Transit Authority is accepting applications for the position of Full Time Receptionist

    Job Duties

    - Extending route and trail information to the public via the telephone, in person and in email

    - Using a two way radio

    - Performing cashier duties for ticket sales

    -General office tasks.

    This position will work 35-40 hours a week, including some weekends, and must be available for day and evening shifts.  The current rate of pay for the position is $11.17 per hour and includes a benefit package.

    Van Driver Part Time
     

    The Mountain Line Transit Authority has a number of position openings for part time Van Drivers.  Available work schedules vary up to 29 hours per week, Monday through Saturday.  The rate of pay is $12.88 per hour. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to obtain a valid class D driver’s license.

  5. Marketing Intern, Fall 2018

    Marketing Intern, Fall 2018

     

    Paid Internship: $75 bi-weekly 

    Goal: The Mountain Line Transit Authority (the Monongalia County Urban Mass Transit Authority) is seeking a motivated intern to assist the Assistant Manager Administration and Marketing to gain experience in a variety of duties related to local and state public transportation services. 

    Duties: Projects will include updating and maintaining communications pieces on buses and at the depot, and improve on the communications methods where possible. Other projects will include educating the public about new routes, organizing volunteers to help on board with riders, assisting with our downtown relocation and planning a grand opening at our Westover Terminal.  Student may be asked to work in social media, website, or print.  Additional projects may be added, Marketing encompasses a vast variety of projects, we try to work the projects around the students interests or skills.

    Skills: The student should have junior or senior student status in Marketing or Business Administration and must have excellent time management, communication and organizational skills.  Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.  The student should be able to work independently and with others, follow directions, and meet deadlines.

    This Internship offers a reasonably flexible schedule, and will be worked out according to the student’s academic schedule,  approximately 10 hours a week.  Duties will mostly be performed in the Westover office but may require some offsite work as well.
