Why is the Census important to Public Transportation?
Census information is used by many government agencies when making policies and distributing funds. Population estimates derived from the census and the American Community Survey may influence the distinctions between "urban" and "rural" communities. Additionally, local decision-making about services and infrastructure may rely on census results and ACS data. For example, age data from the census helps communities identify trends in local demographics when planning for youth and senior transportation.

Every 10 years, everyone living in the United States is counted. Young, old, worker, non-worker, citizen, non-citizen; if you live here, you count.
It’s Easy! In March 2010, every household will receive a short census questionnaire. It asks the following questions and only takes a few minutes to complete and return.
It’s Safe! Every Census Bureau worker takes an oath for life to protect the confidentiality of Census responses. By law, the Census Bureau does hot share your answers with anyone, not even other government agencies. The Census Bureau takes your privacy seriously.
